I had reported this to encore through our local (former) distributor, 
with a series of key strokes as a demonstration over a year ago.
Specifically, I use lots of abbreviations and every now and then
as soon as vi expands an abbreviation it dumps core with no back up file
recovery. I am growing rather tired of this manifestation ...
