Our department of Near Eastern Studies is looking for information and 
experience with word processing programs that can manipulate (at the same 
time, in the same document) Arabic and Latin characters, and that do the 
right think with left-right spacing, tabbing, etc.  We would
like to obtain real life experience from users who have already solved 
this problem more or less satisfactorily.

If there's interest, I'll summarize responses for the net.  Reply via 
e-mail or post, depending upon how much interest you think there is in
