To get the equivalent of `finger` on the RT, you have to do `whois`.
This was driving me crazy, so I put this function in my .profile:

			finger() {
				if [ "${@:-}" ]
				then
					/usr/bin/finger $@
				else
					/usr/bin/whois
				fi
			}
