I have tried one called Mews 1.4 and one called Netnews Reader 1-2-1. I have MacTCP installed and operational on my Mac. I have been using it with NCSA Telnet and VersaTerm for months. Both of the news reader stacks fail when trying to connect to the NNTP server. I get a message to the effect "server not responding". Does this sound familiar to anyone? In order to troubleshoot this problem, I was hoping to use a Mac Telnet client (either NCSA Telnet or Mac IP) to Telnet to the NNTP port on the NNTP server to verify if I can get in that way. I don't see a mechanism for specifying a TCP port # on either of these Telnet clients. Is there a way to do this? Thanks in advance. *********************************************************************** Robin Goldstone, California State University, Chico Computing Services rgoldstone@oavax.csuchico.edu
