Summary: Disappointment Message-ID: <1991Apr4.225837.7179@midway.uchicago.edu> Date: 4 Apr 91 22:58:37 GMT Sender: bcareful@midway.uchicago.edu Distribution: comp.sys.mac.games Organization: University of Chicago Lines: 36 Before I begin my criticism of this game, I would like to first thank the users on the net for recommending games that are extremely good. I picked up Armor Alley on the recommendation of the Net, and although I'm having problems resuming saved games, it is amazing. Wayne Gretzky Hockey, as I posted a long time ago, was pretty much a bust. I have also found many good PD/SW games that I never would have heard of without you guys. Now: I heard a lot of great things about Vette!, and I have been looking for a good driving simulation (and a good hockey simulation) for a long time now. I admit that the graphics are OK, and the concept is fun, but I can't for the life of me see why anyone would play this game for more than a day or so. As a result, I am returning the game tomorrow to get my $45 back from Egghead or trade it in for a really GOOD game. Which brings us to our next point: What is REALLY good, no bugs, preferably sports-oriented or war-oriented, that I should get as a replacement? I've heard a lot about Harpoon, but I don't like the fact that people have mentioned bugs and that you have to keep buying battlesets. One game I have gotten recently and I think is really good (if you like golf) is Jack Nicklaus' Greatest Holes of Major Championship Golf. I've enjoyed it immensely and will keep going back to it (and maybe even buy other courses). I do, as a rule, trust the net's opinion on these things, and I want to get a REALLY GOOD GAME! Please help. Also, please answer this even if it is after Friday. I may not get to return Vette! until Monday.
