Why change them?  KEEP them in GIF format, move them around between systems as
binary files, and use any one of the many GIF viewers on the Mac -- it's a
"system" that works fine here; we've successfully exchanged GIFs between our
Macs, Suns, Irises, VAXen, and an IBM 3081...

PS -- "Giffer" works real nicely on the Mac II; for the non-color Macs, it's a
toss-up between "Vision Lab" and "GIFConverter"... all Shareware!
