Message-ID: <8700@ucdavis.ucdavis.edu> Date: 4 Apr 91 19:37:00 GMT Sender: usenet@ucdavis.ucdavis.edu Organization: ucdavis Lines: 21 I recently started using a LaserWriter LS. I have used ATM rather than True Type. I noticed the following problems and behavior -- I'd appreciate any comments or further info on these plus any other problems others have noticed. 1) Adobe Illustrator 3.0 appears to print out at 72 DPI. I will call Adobe. 2) Canvas 2.1 appears to print fine with the exception of rotated text. 3) Textures 1.3 with PostScript fonts. If I use background printing, the first page is fine, but then all the following pages are shifted to the left about 1", even cutting off some text. If I do not use background printing, all pages print fine. Other word processing software, such as Microsoft Word, appear not to have this problem. (I do have a call into Blue Sky regarding this one -- they are usually right on top of all problems so I expect they will be able to help me.) 4) I am impressed by the fact that background printing does not seem to cut into the responsiveness of the Mac (an SE-30). alan hastings amhastings@ucdavis.edu
