This isn't by any means official, but here's what works on my machines. I'm currently working wih 7.0FC1. Your mileage may vary. > o Scroll2 - changes scrollbars to have double arrow button (3D-look) Dunno. > o After Dark - Multi-module screen saver 2.0s and 2.0t seem to work pretty well. there are evidently some minor glitches, but I haven't seen them. > o Init Cdev - Init manager Most init managers will have to be fixed because of the new system folder structure. I'm using one called "extension manager" which was written here at Apple. > o Boomerange or Rebound - makes SF Dialog remember last selection SuperBoomerang 2.0.3 works fine with a couple of minor cosmetic oopsies. Boomerang doesn't. (buy Now Utilities). > o SuperClock - menubar clock 3.9 works great. > o OnCue - menubar application launcher I had so many problems with this trashing stuff under 6.0.x, I finally gave up on it. Forget it under 7.0 without an upgrade. On the other hand, I don't miss it, because I own DiskTop 4.0 and Disktop (with CE Toolbox and the DiskTop Extras file) have a feature called DiskTop Launch, which DOES work just fine, does essentially the same thing as OnCue but installs it in the Apple menu instead of hiding it up in the corners. Cleaner intereface, although I miss the Hmenu. (releases: DiskTop 4.0.1, CEToolbox 3.5i, DiskTop.Extras 1.0). > o UnScrolly - Control Panel de-iconizer (Is the Control Panel > available in System 7.0?) It looks like a Mac, only better. Other things I'm working with, to complete the list: o QuicKey2 (2.3 alpha something. It'll be fully 7.0 compatible near ship time) o Shiva Netserial/Netmodem software (3.5) o MacTCP o Suitcase 1.2.9 o Apple CD Rom files o SCSIProbe 2.0.2 (2.0.3 evidently has problems) o Power Prog Key o Remember? (fully compatible, including the init and alarm popups) o Scanner (for apple scanner. I had some problems with b4, but haven't tried it recently) o SilverInit 5.25 (for my Syquest) o MS Mail 2.0 (some problems, supposedly fixed in 3.0) o On Location (minus the INIT and auto-updating. They're working on it) o Switch-A-Roo and Mount'Em FKEYS o Suitcase 1.2.9 Anyone who says 7.0 won't be stable or that everything's going to break on it hasn't used it. If you look at the stuff I'm tossing on my systems, it's hard to argue that I'm babying 7.0, and I find it (have, for the most part, since b4) rock solid. -- Chuq Von Rospach >=< chuq@apple.com >=< GEnie: CHUQ >=< AppleLink: CHUQ SFWA Nebula Awards Reports Editor =+= Editor, OtherRealms Book Reviewer, Amazing Stories ---@--- #include Recommended reading: GOBLIN MOON by Teresa Edgerton; BONE DANCE by Emma Bull; BLIND JUSTICE by S.N.
