Message-ID: Date: 8 Apr 91 19:22:07 GMT Distribution: comp.sys.mac Organization: Lehigh University, Bethlehem, PA Lines: 29 Nntp-Posting-Host: spectrum.cc.lehigh.edu Here is what I want to do. A Mac has 3 partitions: first one has the system folder, second one has a backup copy of the system folder, and the last one is scratch space. I want to be able to do the following upon startup: 1. Check that partion 1 and partion 2 are identical (note: partition 2 is write-locked). 2. Check for viruses in partion 1 and 2 (run some applications like SAM or Disinfectant). 3. Erase all files in partion 3. 4. Issue key sequences to automatically log into to a Novell Lan. All of these can be done manually, but I would like a script file that will do all of these upon startup, preferrably without hitting a key stroke. The key sequences will be in some sort of a file which is read in upon startup or upon pressing a single function key. I have looked into FKey that I obtained from sumex-aim.stanford.edu, but I do not know if that will do the job. I am also looking into Quickeys, and have asked for some info on that from the vendor. Is there any other software for recording key sequences? -- Binod Taterway Sr. User Consultant | lubkt@spectrum.CC.Lehigh.EDU Lehigh University Computing Center | bt00@lehigh.BITNET Bethlehem, PA 18015 | (215) 758-3984
