I am working with an AppleTalk network (ci's and cx's) and am interested
in doing the following:

(1) lock a desktop icon so that it cannot be trashed without the
    following dialogue box appearing when the icon is launched:

	"The document 'xxxxxxx' is locked; you will not be
         able to save any changes."

    In other words, I know how to lock the icon, but I haven't been
    able to find out how to prevent the dialogue box from appearing.
    Can I accomplish this using ResEdit?  If so, how?   If not, do you
    have another suggestion?

(2) prevent a desktop icon from being moved from the desktop.   Is there
    any software available (or other solutions) to achieve this?
