I am not sure whether there is a way to do the following:

I find it quite annoying that the dock icons (or the menus for this
matter) always
cover part of my windows.  This gets worst when altdock is run.  My working
space on the screen is effectively cut down.  Is there a way to set it so that
when I click on my windows, they show up on top of the icons?

A minor point:  I have heard complaints about monitors get burn-marks from
the white borders of the icons.  The ability to do the above may help ease the
problem.

No, I haven't check the NeXTAnswers or FAQ yet.
