When I am in the network directory containing Excel, namely X:\APPS\WINDOWS I can type "Excel" and all works as it should but when I am on any other network drive (subdirectory), after typing in the word "excel" I am simply thrown back in the same directory and nothing else happens. When I do a map of my drives, X:\APPS\WINDOWS shows as a search drive and so that is not apparently my problem either. I can also say EXCEL from any of my local drives or subdirectories and everything is fine. Can anyone tell me why I can't fire up EXCEL from anyother network drive, even though I have the directory mapped as a search drive? Rights to any of the directories is not an issue either, I am doing all of this from the "supervisor" account. Any help would greatly be appreciated.
