Message-ID: <1991Apr6.004938.945@netcom.COM> Date: 6 Apr 91 00:49:38 GMT Organization: Netcom - Online Communication Services UNIX System {408 241-9760 guest} Lines: 14 Pardon the wildly new'n'ignorant question... I'm just putting EMACS up on my new ESIX (~= ATT System V/386) for the first time, and when I try to link temacs, ld complains that one of my libraries (*not* one of the EMACS objects!?) is referring to symbols which can't be found. I'm sure they're on the system somewhere... how can I find out which library a given symbol is in? I don't have man pages, but I logged into a public access UNIX and looked up the missing symbols there; they're all legit, but the man pages don't tell the names of the libraries themselves. How do I find them? Answer to ewadams@netcom.com if you want to save net bandwidth. --Ernest
