Options in POSIX allow customers to vote with their dollars. I would not buy a system without job control for my personal use. i don't want to buy one with my tax dollars either. POSIX technical committees can create all of the options that they want (look at .4). Buyers are going to want to put them in. In the end, POSIX will create profiles in the same way that Detroit created "luxury option groups".
