I have MSC 5.0 and MASM 5.0. Are these versions recent enough? I am aware, that I also need the SDK for Windows. I don't have it yet and I only want to buy it if the answer to question ii) is yes. ii) In the planned application I want to do Port I/O (megabytes) in an assembly routine. Is it possible to set the I/O privileges high enough in the application or before starting it? I/O via calls to the SDK library (if they exist) will probably not be fast enough. Any help or references are very much appreciated. ------- Udo Lenz Sektion Physik der Universitaet Muenchen Am Coulombwall 1 D-8046 Garching Internet: lenz@charly.bl.physik.tu-muenchen.de Germany Bitnet: lenz@dgablg5p
