I'm new to X and have just spent the better part of last month trying to get sufficiently up to speed before installing it (X11R3.2) on my ISC-based system. I have put the command xdm command at the end of the startup file /etc/rc2. The problem is that sometimes the system starts up, as defined by the contents of the .Xsession file, and other times it simply bombs out. It appears like a timing problem. Then, on the occasions when it works, on logging out, it takes an age before I'm presented with the X-login screen. Is there anything else obvious that I need to do? Would some kind soul out there let mail me a copy of their .Xsession and .Xresources files, and any other files that may be useful, just to compare with my own copies, please. Thanks in advance for your help
