I tried mailing the author of tvtwm, but didn't get any reply. When positioning a new window (e.g. an xterm with no specified or default position), if I hit a key or two before hitting the appropriate mouse button to set the position, the window manager (either twm or tvtwm) hangs. The only way to recover is to log in from somewhere else and kill the window manager. I run into this problem all the time because my workstation is so slow. I start up an xterm from a menu entry, then go about my work in a window until the xterm is ready to be positioned (this can take about thirty seconds, so I don't want to just wait for it). When I don't notice the pointer changing shape in time to stop typing, I hang up the window manager. DaviD W. Sanderson (dws@cs.wisc.edu) -- ___ / __\ U N S H I N E DaviD W.
