I recently obtained the tvtwm window manager from MIT (patch level 4) and brought it up for internal use. The only difficulty I have is that FrameMaker document windows do not come up with the right size. When I open a document, very often the width of the document window will be more than 30000 pixels (about 25 feet wide for a 100dpi monitor). Sometimes the width will be reasonable (not correct, but reasonable) and the height will be more than 30000 pixels. The other times the width will be about 1/3 normal and the height about 2/3 the normal size. There seems to be an unusual interaction between the tvtwm window manager, a (presumably) ICCCM compliant window manager, and FrameMaker. I really like the virtual screen idea of tvtwm, especially for FrameMaker. It is nice to have all of FrameMaker's windows (paragraph, character, ...) in one place in the virtual screen so they don't get in the way when I am doing something else. If you have used tvtwm and FrameMaker successfully I'd like to find out how to get them to cooperate. -- tom, ekberg@asl.dl.nec.com (x3503)
