I hate to say this, but it sounds like those in NAD and a part of the deaf culture are actually feeling threatened. Do you really feel we should prevent our future generation from taking advantage of all that could help them in this BIG world? I remember worrying about my son being born deaf when I was pregnant with him (even though I knew that the type of deafness I and my siblings have are not hereditary) and hoping he would not be deaf. I think parents want more for their children than what has been available for them.
