That is, not only online (FTP) but also by request through e-mail. This makes it accessible to users on systems not directly connected to the Internet (like our users in Central America, for example). For reference, the Bitnis/GMED software and system (also by NLM) permits searching on Medlars/Medline databases via e-mail.
