Jesus didn't mention tithing much because it was a commonly accepted practice. However, he did speak about money more than anything else. It is not that God required a tenth of our income, but he wanted us to worship him with that which means so much to us.We teach tithing in our church not because we want the money, but because we believe we will be depriving people of God's blessing if we don't teach it. (cf Phil 4). Food for thought: I believe we all tithe. Either we tithe to God, or Satan takes it anyway (car repairs, broken washing machines, unexpected bills)!!. Richard.
