Binaries for kermit 5A(169) and for perl 4.0, patchlevel 3, are available
for anonymous ftp on csvax.cs.caltech.edu, in the directory pub/3b1.  The
file "Index" lists what's available, along with version numbers, etc.  Both
kermit and perl were compiled with "gcc -O" (this is a bit tricky, in the
case of perl), and linked with the shared library.
