The client program is running on PCs and is pretty simple...opens a connection to the database, does a bunch of selects, some inserts, closes connection then exits. Note: Only one DBPROC per client program is used. At about the 20th client, we start failing to make connections. I can no longer run isql on the server machine either. The messages in the Sybase error log say there's no more room in the socket table. server: Failed to open virtual socket table for new connections kernel: nopen: no room in socket table When the server started there was also a message about not using 2000 file descriptors, but only 1024, which is the internal limit. Is this part of the problem? Is there anything one can do about this? Is there some configuration parameter in Sybase or AIX one can modify to increase the socket table size? I can't believe I'm going to be limited to 20 users! Thanks for any help! -- *************************************************************************** | Sharon Mandell | ..!gatech!nanovx!msa3b!smndl or | | Dun & Bradstreet Software | gt5519c@prism.gatech.edu | ***************************************************************************
