Modems with callback are more secure than passthru units but do not think for a second that it is foolproof. Phone freaks are quite a talented group of people. True security (as good as it gets) requires a seperate unit such as Lee-Mah or Defender for security until callback modems are build with the ability to support a seperate phone line for in and out.
