Emacs has always done something that is very strange. When I monitor the emacs processes running, each takes a relatively large percentage of the CPU event when the user is not editing. (One emacs takes 50-75%, with 5 running, each takes 15-20%). Does anybody have any ideas or has anybody else seen this. emacs on our SUN equipment does not exhibit this. I'm also investigating if HP knows anything about this. Steve Anastasi 3M
