I didn't get the OK to travel until about two weeks before SigGraph '90 in Dallas. I ended up staying near the airport, about 30 min from the convention center. There was **NO** conference housing available at anything like the government hotel rates unless you went out that far. 

***** Don't ***** put you reservations off 'till the last minute. The place I stayed in was so remote there wasn't even a McDonald's around! It was off the Dallas map...
