Without refering to Forth specifically, an article in the Apr/May '91 issue of PC Techniques points out the seriousness of this problem. . The article *Typing Your Data* by Gary W. Sims starts off saying "Have you ever heard a spreadsheet played through a digital stereo? As crazy as this might seem it could happen to you if your data is not properly typed." . This is a danger I had not previously considered, but, obviously, the risk is so great that I dare not continue to use Forth.
