Thanks to everyone that has been sending me further additions to the 
Language List.  It is growing at an amazing rate...now approximately
900 languages listed!  Many of the question marks have been filled
in, and we are trying to include literature references wherever
possible.  

Another list by Jean Sammet summarizing the language scene
as of 1978 has been added.  While I'm not particularly excited by
languages that are extinct, I think that this is a necessary base to
build on.

Many of these languages have compilers/interpreters that are in the
public domain, and I'm particularly interested in including information
on net addresses where persons can ftp to get them.  Therefore I'm 
attaching below the list of ftp sites that I know of so far, and also 
the mailing lists devoted to discussions on a particular language.

Clearly this list is very preliminary and incomplete, so I'm asking 
anyone with better information to please send it along to me.
