Needless to say I have a way to go. I glanced at the passwd code around page 182 or so. I really would like to use this code on my system, however we have a dbm password file to update besides the text version, and our system is too slow to have to do a mkpasswd every time someone changes something in the text portion. I was wondering if someone else with a berkeley passwd system with dbm files has modified the passwd.pl to do this updatedbm in place. I imagine I could write an external c program to do this.
