Message-ID: <1991Apr12.140358.18986@ccad.uiowa.edu> From: cadsi@ccad.uiowa.edu (CADSI) Date: 12 Apr 91 14:03:58 GMT Distribution: comp.os.msdos.apps,comp.windows.ms Organization: CAD-Research, U. of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa Lines: 15 Ok, I have tried PC-CACHE, HyperDisk, and SmartDrive. I place these in the upper memory block area (I am using QEMM 5.12) and they seem to work more or less ok, UNTIL I run something like Windows in 386 Enhanced mode. I can guarantee a system hang just by running Paintbrush (the one that comes w/Windows. Anybody really running (safely) their cache in the UMB Areas???? BTW, I used the XS parameter for HyperDisk and loadhi for the other two (loadhi is the QEMM toy). |----------------------------------------------------------------------------| |Tom Hite | The views expressed by me | |Manager, Product development | are mine, not necessarily | |CADSI (Computer Aided Design Software Inc. | the views of CADSI. | |----------------------------------------------------------------------------|
