I'm trying to assess the appilcability of existing
OSI Application and Transport layer APIs to an
existing distributed application.

I know of X/Open's Transport XTI, MAP Appendix 13, 
UI's ACSE, and some of the work being done with MMS.

Does anyone know of any others? IEEE? OSF?
