This is the binary only (compiled with gcc, linked with the shared
library).  Kermit sources and documentation are available on
watsun.cc.columbia.edu, in the directory kermit/sw.  [kermit has
quite a bit of built-in help (help command) and a '?' will list
all possible things that could follow (for example, hitting '?'
after typing "set modem" will list all the modems supported).]
