I am looking for information on the journaling behavior of DecWrite for Ultrix 4.1. For example, I noticed a bug: when trying to restore a crashed session, it messed up on a paper where the 1st page contained a footnote - the footnote seems to have confused it, and it started restoring text into the footnote and into other places where it did not belong. Is there a known workaround for this? Can anyone enlighten me about those .djl and .djb files DecWrite produces? What's the difference? And, is there any way to extract the text from one of those files? the 'strings' Ultrix program doesn't find any of the text in the journalling files, but it is obviously there in some sort of coded form. Does anyone know of the format, so I can write a utility to extract the text myself? I would appreciate any info on the behavior and format of DecWrite journalling files. Thanks in advance.
