Works with VGA GIFS Message-ID: <1991Apr12.022754.13379@mintaka.lcs.mit.edu> Followup-To: comp.sys.ibm.pc.hardware Keywords: VGA, grasprt Sender: news@mintaka.lcs.mit.edu Organization: None Date: Fri, 12 Apr 91 02:27:54 GMT Lines: 20 I have this weird problem. I have a clone Paradise (WDC) 1024 VGA card with 512K of RAM that passes all the VGA compatibility checks. I can use 256 color VGA programs fine on it. I can display 640 X 480 X 256 color gifs on it fine. BUT VGA grasprt .GL files just don't work properly. When I try the same grasprt.exe and .GL file on an IBM VGA, it works fine. I upgraded my system recently to a 386-25 with an AMI BIOS, but my old system had an AMI bios too, and I seem to remember it working. I don;t get it. Why would all other VGA programs work fine, but not grasprt anymore? The VGA .GL files play back in a distorted color, as if only EGA, with the wrong palatte. It appears to use a different palatte each time I run it. If anyone can shed some, light, I'd appreciate hearing about it. This has got me stumped. And it used to work!!! --- Seng-Poh Lee splee@gnu.ai.mit.edu
