Burlington, VT Lines: 17 After much discussion with STB, it seems they inadvertently released a batch of STB PowerGraph boards with "out-of-spec" Tseng 4000 chips on them. Attributes include (1) taking a long time to change modes, and (2) sometimes not controlling analog output enough (which causes good monitor with overvoltage crowbars to let loose). Additionally, VIDSPEED gives performance about 1/2 normal (25 Mhz 386 gives 1220 +/-, should be about 3000?) You can tell if the board says "Rev B" and the Tseng chip has a BLACK letter "A" or "B" on it. There may also be problems on "Rev C" boards. Good news: call them and they'll arrange a board swap at no cost.. steve /------------------------------------------------------------------------\ > Steve Alpert (W1GGN) IDX Corporation Marlborough, Massachusetts < \--------------------------- sra @ idx.com ------------------------------/
