A friend of my is going to buy an internal modem for the T1000LE.  Does the
one sold by Toshiba have any advantage over third party ones (if there's any
non-Toshiba ones))?  I think I heard something in this group about power
consumption when the modem is not in use.  How much battery life degradation is
caused by the modem?

Any brand and vendor recommendations will be greatly appreciated.
