Your son should save his files in some other format from within the MacWrite II program. Try several of the formats to get one that you can read. As I recall, MacWrite II can save in MacWrite 5.0 format, but MacWrite 4.5 cannot read that either... (I tried this a while ago because e still have quite a few Mac 512s running here, and they prefer to use MacWrite 4.5.) -- Gerald A.
