This should be simple:

I have a list of names of people. This list grows and shrinks.
How can I get WingZ (or, if I must, Excel) to tell me how
many people are in the list?

Or, slightly more complex:

Each of the people on the list (on their own line) has
a zip code (different row, same line). How can I get WingZ
to tell me how many people are in each zip code?
