Message-ID: <1991Apr12.215058.23392@ux1.cso.uiuc.edu> Sender: usenet@ux1.cso.uiuc.edu (News) Reply-To: dorner@pequod.cso.uiuc.edu (Steve Dorner) Organization: University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Date: Fri, 12 Apr 1991 21:50:58 GMT Lines: 15 Is there an approved way to test for A/UX? Eudora has long been incompatible with it, and I found out why today; A/UX barfs at me if I call TcpSend with more than a few (8 is too many, 4 is ok) WDS entries. Since MacOS hasn't any problem with 50, I'm very reluctant to limit myself to only 4. So, I need to know if A/UX is running. I have neither an A/UX system nor A/UX manuals, and I can't find the answer in IM or the Technotes. Help, please? I would vastly prefer an answer that did NOT involve Gestalt, since it's verboten for me to have documentation or glue for such a macho trap. -- Steve Dorner, U of Illinois Computing Services Office Internet: s-dorner@uiuc.edu UUCP: uunet!uiucuxc!uiuc.edu!s-dorner
