Message-ID: <2977@cod.NOSC.MIL> Date: 11 Apr 91 05:51:10 GMT Distribution: usa Organization: Naval Ocean Systems Center, San Diego Lines: 27 HELP!!!! I tried to boot my SE (4MB RAM, 40MB La Cie HD, LOADS of inits) this evening, and was met with the " '?' in a disk" icon. What's up?!? Last night it booted fine; got some new software from the net and added it to the system folder -- still fine, even with multiple restarts. Then, in an act so inane only a physicist could have done it, I turned my machine OFF after the restart "beep" in the midst of rebooting. Does this corrupt your system or what? I can read the HD from a floppy boot, and can even run applications, but it just won't start up! One other thing -- when I try to get it to boot off the HD, I get a happy Mac icon for a couple of seconds, which then changes into the "?" icon.... I've even moved all of the new files into a neutral folder on the desktop so they won't be "in the way." Any comments, flames, ideas, etc. will be welcome. Thanx in advance. -shane
