I just found out about this newsgroup so I apologize if my questions
fall into the FAQ category.  I've decided that it's finally time for me
to be able to access my work & school computers from my home.  Since my
background is mainframes and Unix-based workstations and I don't want to
go through the trouble of learning DOS, I decided that all I really need
is a good terminal that can provide vt100 and perhaps Tek4014 emulation
and a high-speed modem.  I would appreciate some recommendations
regarding various brands of terminals and perhaps some good mail order
sources.  I would also appreciate some comments on the pros and cons of
buying a terminal rather than a PC.  Finally, does anyone have
experience with using an X-terminal connected to a host using SLIP and a
19.2K modem?  Thanks in advance.
