I would like to put some common fractions into equations. By common fractions, I mean things like one-half, one-fourth, etc. I am looking for something that is half-way between: 1 1/2 and --- 2 That is, it should look more like: 1/ /2 Is there an easy solution, or do I need to hack something up? Just so there is no misunderstanding, $1/2$, $\frac{1}{2}$, and $\stackrel{1}{\bar{2}}$ are not the correct responses. This would be used as either an in-text formula or a superscript to a displayed equation. Its advantage is that it is not as wide as the first alternative above and not as tall as the second choice. Please e-mail responses to vanwyk@ecn.purdue.edu. Thanks, kenric --
