The problem about the frozen server seemed to be caused by the emulation of select(). It doesn't work very well under AT&T UNIX. Poll() used to emulate select() only supports STREAMS in AT&T UNIX and seems not to return under some circumstances. Does anyone know if there is any good emulation of BSD select() for SVR3 without using pull() in PD? Thanks for any help. H. Lu
