You might try the freely available automounter amd which is available
from several internet sites by anonymous ftp. I have no idea as to
whether it has been ported to Xenix or how easy it would be to do so.

A version of this can be obtained by anonymous ftp from tut.cis.ohio-state.edu
in ~ftp/pub/amd.
