Many thanks to everyone (I counted 8 folks) who responded in two days !! Using the WIN.INI file, look for the line that starts with "LOAD=" Enter the pathname(s) of the files you want to open as small icons. Look for the line that starts with "RUN=". If you see the same filenames in the "RUN=" line, eliminate them. Save changes & reboot. Items listed in the "LOAD=" line will be "loaded" as small icons. Items listed in the "RUN=" line will be "run" (ie, Windows will open a window for each file that is to be "run"). Neat, huh? Thanks again to everyone who responded! Larry
