The problem is that the lpr command is losing its option switches somewhere. lpr without options works fine; lpr -h or lpr -w80 act as though the options aren't there at all. Here is the printcap from the DECstation: # # Apple LaserWriter connected remotely # lw|ps|postscript printer|Apple LaserWriter:\ :lp=:\ :rm=prctest1:\ :rp=lw:\ :sd=/usr/spool/lw: Here is the printcap from the Sun: # # APPLE LaserWriter locally connected # lw|lwc|ps|postscript|PostScript|Apple LaserWriter:\ :lp=/dev/ttya:sd=/usr/spool/lwd:\ :lf=/usr/adm/lpd-errs:\ :br#9600:rw:\ :fc#0000374:fs#0000003:xc#0:xs#0040040:\ :mx#0:sf:sh: If anyone has a fix for this configuration, I'd sure like to hear from you! -- Steve Wald Motorola Inc. wald@dover.sps.mot.com
