I've found TTPTK to act a bit flaky with some versions of Porttalk.  In at
least one version, you have to go into Porttalk's menu and tell it "speech
off" or else everything gets doubled up.  Others haven't had this problem.

I'm in the process of rewriting the Tinytalk manual, and am paying special
attention to the section on windows.  You aren't the first one to find the
original unclear (it mostly consisted of "tacked-on" stuff).
