My problem is that I have a lot of engineering data that I 
am trying to extract rules from.

I have recently read about ID3 which can analyze a set of data
and automatically create a decision tree. Furthermore, some articles mention
how this decision tree can then be automatically converted into
rules for an expert system.

Has anyone developed or does anyone know of any public domain
code that performs a function similar to ID3 to create a decison
tree from data?
