The problem is as follows: the network I am trying to run from is MS-Net (Microsoft Network), which is not mentioned in the installation manual, but is supposed to be NetBios compatible. The installation proceeds without problems, but when I try to start Paradox I get the following error message after the screen shows the opening picture: 'Can't start Paradox: unable to record lock/unlock g:\tdr\PARADOX.NET. You may have insufficient access' g: is the network drive I installed the data files on. (Paradox itself is on the e: network drive). I checked the access rights, both on the Unix server and from a PC workstation and changed them to the widest possible access. From the DOS prompt I can delete or otherwise manipulate the PARADOX.NET file, and while starting up a new one is created in the g:\tdr directory, as expected. Borland Sweden is unable to help me and say that maybe Borland US can be of some assistance, but that will take weeks and I haven't got that long. Has anybody ever installed Paradox on a MS-Net network? Is anybody from Borland on the net?
