I think someone mentioned this before, but Coherent has a habit of hanging
up on dial-in's after it's made a UUCP call out (at least my system does);
however, if you call back again, it seems to reset.  
 
Admittedly, you might have forgotten to enable the port (see the lexicon
article, or the 3.10 supplement-- they're probably word-for-word exactly
what you need to do to set up your system).
